Swiss Chard ~ First little seedlings

Swiss Chard ~ Lucullus / Beta vulgaris cicla

Our first little plants are growing fast - never eaten this little plant before so looking forward to trying it. The added bonus with this lovely plant is you can harvest when young and mature and a long season - sowing from March to August.

A fast growing abundant variety ~ The young leaves can be eaten like spinach and the stems can be used like asparagus. Needs a nutrient rich and moist soil.

Height : 50cm (20") ~ Spread: 40cm (16")
