Getting ready

Only a few days until my next craft fair at Formby Hall in Atherton. I'm frantically finishing off several projects to take along and deciding what to take.

I have some super new display shelves to give some height to my stall. And I have a hanging rail for easier access to my lovely goodies. Hours of work all on display. I do hope there will be lots of visitors.

Tried out my shelves today too to help me decide what to take.

Window shopping

Had a lovely day today. Up early couldn't sleep so early breakfast and nice couple of peaceful hours before the noisy rabble woke up. Then we all tootled off to the cinema to watch "The Lorax" it was funny. My girls really enjoyed it.

After this we went to Ikea to have a good snoop. Lots of new stuff to oooh at found a fabulous sofa. Had the usual hot dog before we started girls love them. Finally picked a new bed for our Lydia. She has been choosing for some time and getting delivered Friday woohoo. Need to move a few things around before it arrives.

Quick bite to eat a burger king. Nice

Then whizz around B&Q ... Found fab kitchen & bathroom.  Lydia found her ideal garden play house.

So wish I could win the lottery.

The North-West · Emmaus

Want to find some quality second hand items and help those in need in your community in the process, this charity is for you - they have shops throughout the UK where you can donate your furniture and goods and also buy from the too.

The North-West · Emmaus

Extract from Website

"Emmaus Communities enable people to move on from homelessness, providing work and a home in a supportive, family environment. Companions, as residents are known, work full time collecting renovating and reselling donated furniture. This work supports the Community financially and enables residents to develop skills, rebuild their self-respect and help others in greater need.
Companions receive accommodation, food, clothing and a small weekly allowance, but for many, the greatest benefit is a fresh start. To join a Community, they sign off unemployment benefits and agree to participate in the life and work of the Community and abide by its rules, for example not bringing drugs or alcohol into the Community.
Emmaus is a secular movement, spanning 36 countries, with 23 Communities in the UK. Each Community aims to become self-supporting, with any surplus donated to others in need.

Buy second hand furniture and homewares
"Whether you're furnishing a new home or just fancy brightening things up a bit, you can always pick up a bargain for your home at Emmaus! Emmaus shops sell a wide range of good quality second-hand furniture, household appliances, bric-a-brac, records, clothes, toys and books and we often have great vintage or retro finds. Read more about shopping at Emmaus.
If you're looking for something really special, many Communities are now "upcycling" in their workshops, making unique items from materials that would otherwise be thrown away. Some Emmaus shops also have a coffee shop or cafe.
For people who prefer to shop online, you can see a selection of current items for sale from Emmaus shops on the Emmaus eBay page."
