Running out of space

Nice strong courgettes
just need our greenhouse
Purple sprouting broccoli, tomato, beetroot, cannellini beans

Still waiting for our greenhouse on the allotment to be built.  So need it to hurry up.  Running out of space on our window ledges and so much more needing to be potted on but not enough room.   Worries about losing some.

Yard/Asparagus beans, Courgettes doing really well, cucamelon getting their true leaves, tomatoes and some chard

Lots of things

Lots more little seedlings growing. Lovely willow bean support arrived and now standing proudly on the allotment with a few yard beans and broad beans popped in to start growing.  But there have been a couple of frosty mornings hope they are ok. Checking on them tomorrow.

Green house starting to be built this week so will soon be moving all our seedlings off the window ledges and into their new home until they are big enough to go out into the beds.

Seedlings need potting on

Our little seedlings are shooting up. Time to pot some of them on.  Fast running out of space.  We need our greenhouse desperately.

Wind break

Good couple of ours putting up a wind break to protect out soft fruit.  My arms are aching now.  Took about half an hour to water everything too.  Lots of little carrots and beetroots popping up.  The peas are doing well too.  No sign of the comfrey,  spinach or beans.  Baron red onions are finally starting to throw up shoots too.  Back later on to do a spot of weeding and digging.

Loving all these little seedlings sprouting up in all our trays.   We have cauliflowers, turnips, cucumbers, cabbages, tomatoes and long/asparagus beans.

Little Seedlings

lots of lovely tomato seedlings shooting up, only planted a few days ago and was not expecting them to grow as the packets were out of date by a few years. Just goes to show its worth trying to grow even if out of date.

Sow, Sow, Sow

Well what to do on a rainy day, and my last day of leave before heading back to work in the morning.  Sowing seeds with my youngest daughter who is loving all this sowing and growing lark and is the first to ask if we are going down to the allotment.  We have a little gardener raring to learn, its great.

We have used some interesting receptacles today ~ in the spirit of recycling and reusing.

Tiny Cauliflower seeds
Yard/Asparagus Beans
We have used some cardboard easter egg boxes, a plastic egg box and some plastic drinking cups with holes punched in the bottom.  Out window ledges are now full again waiting for the little seedlings to pop up.  We desperately need our greenhouse at the allotments.  It has been ordered and hopefully being delivered and erected in about 4 weeks.
