Spuds are in (and comfrey too)

Comfrey Plant
Comfrey Seeds sown in nice big tub ~ Green Manure
Comfrey seeds sown, fingers crossed they germinate and grow.  This plant is hopefully going to provide lots of nutrients for our allotment.  You cut the leaves and then put them into a large bottle of water and leave for a 3-5 weeks then can be diluted and poured onto your plants providing  Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potash and Carbon-Nitrogen.  Apparently is smells like an open sewer as it ferments!, hope my fellow allotmenteers will forgive me.  You can also put the cut leaves at the bottom of any trough before planting your vegetable plants and the nutrients will be released into the soil this way too as they rot down.  Said to be of great benefit especially for tomato's and potatoes so I am hoping to get good crop this year.

potatoes planted
7 rows done ~ Roosters, First Earlies (unknown variety) and salad potatoes (also unknown variety)
Whole family on the plot today made light work of all the digging
Nice sunny view across all the plots
PLOT 19 ~ our second plot which I am going to use for fruit and smaller produce - salads, radishes, mooli ...
The view across both our PLOTS 26 & 19 .... lots of work we are going to be fit and full of lovely veg
